HJ Structural Engineers Ltd was set up by Director Mark Shutt. 

I worked for a leading engineering consultancy in East Anglia from 2000-2017 heading up the structural engineering department at the HQ, working from projects from £1000 to £50m.  

Then in 2017 I setup HJ Structural Engineers.  We are now in our 8th year and have now delivered in excess of 2000 projects ranging from small steelwork canopies to 300 dwelling large developments.

I graduated from Coventry University in 2000 with a degree in Civil Engineering Construction. Over the past 25 years I have been progressing my career working on a vast variety of different projects specializing in Steelwork & House Design. I have a particular interest in steelwork connections and work with fabricators in the region to produce cost effective efficient designs.

I enjoy being involved from the projects conception to offer advice to the client using my many years of knowledge and experience. I often find different innovative ways to reduce costs.

I have designed and project managed schemes ranging in size from a simple kitchen / dining room integration to large commercial retail and housing developments.

I've been working for 25 years in the industry & I have a proactive attitude to resolving problems/issues and not creating them. My pro-active attitude helps highlight potential issues so that solutions can be finalised prior to any work been carried out.
